Live Span :Around 2-3 years
最佳溫度:15-26C. and growth inhibition occurs at temperatures below 12C (stop eating)
Size: Asults reach 6 cm to 12 cm approx: Many elements will affect the size of this crayfish.(Tank size,food source,Breed line etc)
Color: Wild type Red, Wild type Blue, Dark Blue, White, Pearl Blue, Super Red,Orange,Peach.(Recently have Black )and special type with white antenna
Water condition : Medium - hard water 約6.5-7.5PH (But that is not too critical to this species which is very hardy & adaptable
Tank Setup :Not recommended to be kept with other fish as they are opportunistic feeders & will eat anything they can catch.Also Real Plant is not recommeded too as they will treat it as a food source. And best kept it in separate tanks or in pairs. The number of hiding places eg.Plastic tube. It should always outnumber the crayfish to minimize fighting. Babies require many hiding places or they will cannibalize each other during molts. Also the tank must have a cover on the top.They are good at climbing!!
Sexing: (From the outlook) Adult males of the same age are generally
larger & have
longer slender claws. Females also tend to be
wider across the carapace.
Breeding :It can happen as early as 5-6cm in size. Male will pin female on her back
in
Y shape to transfer sperm which the female can hold onto for long periods of time until she feels its safe to extract her eggs.Weeks to several months. Normally it take approx 30 days to hatch.(Depends on the weather-Winter batch take longer time to hatch) A 10 cm female may produce up to 500 eggs, while smaller females may carry around 100 eggs. Mother Crayfish will take care of the newly hatched crayfish up to 6-8 weeks.But I will recommend to seperate them.Especially for the White or Orange morph baby.
